question about quotes and idioms

hey ben quick question when were using quotes from stevens and freud, do we need to reference lines and page numbers? and also if were using idioms in our essays, just quotation marks? i didn't want the chance for it to be misinterpreted as coming from freud or stevens. I'm using the idiom "removing of a veil" so should i keep it in quotation marks or notate it in a different way

Yes, good questions - you should cite page references from Freud, but don't need to do so for the Stevens (or any poem), or, I guess, the Nietzsche, since there isn't pagination for that essay either.

Is "removing of a veil" a line from a poem (I don't remember)? If so, you should put it in quotes and say so. If not (if it's just a phrase of yours), you shouldn't put it in quotes.

Also, for the sake of fun (and oh what fun we have), you might want to notice that "removing" as you're using it here is a pretty gratuitous nominalization. Given that, you might want to ask if some rewording might help make things a bit more clear ... just a suggestion, though (I haven't seen your paper, so I can't know if your phrase is the best way to put things or not).
